๐Ÿ”’
Short version: Your data is yours. QuerylensAI accesses your Google Search Console data only to display it to you in your browser. We have no servers, so we never store, sell, or transmit your GSC data ourselves. The one exception is fully opt-in: the "Copy AI Prompt" and "Diagnose This Page" buttons copy your keyword data (and, for page diagnostics, the page you're viewing) to your clipboard so you can paste it into an AI tool of your choice. See sections 2.4 and 6.4 below for details.

1. Overview

QuerylensAI ("we", "our", or "us") operates the QuerylensAI Chrome browser extension (the "Extension"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Extension.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy is designed to be clear and straightforward, not buried in legal language. If you have any questions, please contact us.

By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

QuerylensAI collects the absolute minimum information required to function:

2.1 Google Account Email Address

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address. This is used solely to:

  • Display your signed-in email in the Extension interface
  • Associate your session with your Google Search Console properties

Your email address is stored locally in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) and is never transmitted to any external server.

2.2 Google OAuth Access Token

To fetch your Search Console data, the Extension uses a temporary OAuth access token issued by Google. This token:

  • Is used only to make read-only API calls to Google Search Console on your behalf
  • Is held only in the Extension's in-memory session state, never written to disk or to chrome.storage.local
  • Is never sent to QuerylensAI servers (we have none)
  • Is cleared when you sign out or close enough of Chrome to end the session, and expires automatically per Google's standard token expiry

2.3 User Preferences

Filter settings (e.g., date range, position, CTR threshold) are stored locally in your browser to preserve your preferences between sessions. This data never leaves your device.

2.4 AI Diagnostic Prompts (Optional Feature)

QuerylensAI includes optional "Copy AI Prompt" and "Diagnose This Page" buttons that help you analyze your data with an AI assistant of your choice (Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini). When you click one of these buttons, the Extension:

  • Builds a text prompt containing the relevant keyword performance data, and copies it to your clipboard
  • For page diagnostics, also reads the visible text content of the page open in your current browser tab and includes it in that same prompt
  • Shows an on-screen confirmation telling you the prompt was copied, so you can paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any AI tool of your choice

This feature only runs when you click it, and QuerylensAI does not transmit this data anywhere on your behalf or open any other site for you. It is placed on your clipboard, and is shared with the AI provider only if and when you choose to open that tool yourself and paste it in. See section 6.4 for more on what happens after you paste.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not do:

  • We do not collect, store, or transmit your Google Search Console keyword data or your website URLs to QuerylensAI, with one exception: if you choose to use the optional AI diagnostic features described in section 2.4, that data is copied to your clipboard for you to paste into an AI tool of your choosing
  • We do not track your browsing activity
  • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers
  • We do not collect your name, address, phone number, or payment information
  • We do not collect crash reports or usage analytics
  • We do not have a backend server that receives any data from the Extension

4. Google OAuth and Search Console Access

QuerylensAI uses Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate you and request access to your Google Search Console data. We request the following scopes:

Scopes requested:

  • webmasters.readonly: Read-only access to your Search Console data
  • userinfo.email: Your Google account email address
  • userinfo.profile: Basic profile information

All access is read-only. QuerylensAI cannot modify, delete, or publish anything to your Search Console account. It can only read performance data that you are already authorized to view.

The OAuth flow is handled entirely by Google's official authentication infrastructure. QuerylensAI never sees or handles your Google password.

You can revoke QuerylensAI's access to your Google account at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. Data Storage and Retention

All data associated with QuerylensAI is stored locally on your device, using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API for persistent settings, and in-memory session state for anything tied to your active sign-in. This includes:

  • Your Google account email (chrome.storage.local, for display purposes)
  • Your OAuth session token (in-memory only, never written to disk)
  • Your saved filter preferences (chrome.storage.local)

This data is stored only on your device and is automatically deleted if you uninstall the Extension. Your OAuth session token is cleared as soon as you sign out or close enough of Chrome to end the session. You can also manually clear all locally stored data by signing out within the Extension.

We operate no servers that store user data. There is no QuerylensAI database containing your information.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, with the following limited exceptions:

6.1 Google APIs

The Extension communicates directly with Google's official APIs (Search Console API, Google Identity) to function. This is a direct browser-to-Google connection. QuerylensAI is not an intermediary.

6.2 Legal Requirements

Since we do not store your data, there is nothing for us to disclose in response to legal requests. In the unlikely event we are compelled to provide information, we would disclose only what is legally required and notify you to the extent permitted by law.

6.3 Business Transfers

If QuerylensAI is acquired or merged with another company, your data (limited to what we hold, which is minimal) would be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change via the Chrome Web Store listing.

6.4 Optional AI Diagnostic Tools

If you use the "Copy AI Prompt" or "Diagnose This Page" features described in section 2.4, and you choose to paste the copied prompt into Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, that data is then shared directly with Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, respectively, the operator of whichever tool you picked. That exchange is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms, not ours. QuerylensAI has no server and is not an intermediary in this exchange: the data moves directly from your clipboard to the AI provider's website only if and when you paste it there. We recommend reviewing your chosen AI provider's privacy policy before pasting any sensitive information.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over your data:

  • Sign out: Use the sign-out button in the Extension to clear your OAuth session and locally stored email
  • Revoke access: Remove QuerylensAI's Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data
  • Data request: Since we store no server-side data, there is nothing for us to provide or delete on request beyond what you can clear yourself

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you may also have rights under GDPR or UK GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data. Please contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Security

We take appropriate measures to protect your information. Because all data is stored locally in your browser:

  • Your data is protected by Chrome's built-in extension sandboxing
  • OAuth tokens are managed using Chrome's identity APIs, which follow Google's security best practices
  • All API calls to Google are made over HTTPS
  • We do not operate any servers, eliminating server-side breach risk

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. However, our architecture minimizes risk by keeping all data on your device.

9. Children's Privacy

QuerylensAI is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, provide notice via the Chrome Web Store listing or the Extension itself.

Your continued use of QuerylensAI after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
